If you do not agree, you should not proceed with the booking. For clarity, these terms apply to all standard carpet cleaning appointments, stain treatment requests, rug cleaning, upholstery add-ons where offered, and any agreed specialist cleaning services.

We aim to provide a professional and efficient service, but the exact scope of work will depend on the booking details, the condition of the items to be cleaned, access to the property, and any special instructions provided before the appointment. Any changes to the original request may affect timing, methods used, and pricing. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, these terms apply to every engagement with Carpet Cleaners SE1.

Booking terms section for carpet cleaning services1. Booking Process

All bookings are subject to availability and are only confirmed once we have accepted your request. A booking may be made through a quotation request, a direct appointment request, or any other communication channel we make available. When you book Carpet Cleaning SE1, you must provide accurate information, including the property address, the type and approximate size of the items or areas to be cleaned, any known stains or damage, parking or access restrictions, and any relevant health and safety concerns. If any information changes before the appointment, you must inform us as soon as possible.

We may provide an estimated price before the visit, but any estimate is based on the information available at the time. If the actual condition of the carpets, upholstery, or flooring differs materially from the information supplied, we may revise the price before work begins. We reserve the right to refuse or reschedule a booking where access is unsafe, where the premises are unsuitable for the service requested, or where the task is outside the scope of our equipment, staff training, or insurance cover.

By confirming the booking, you agree that you have the authority to permit us to carry out the work at the property. If you are booking on behalf of a landlord, tenant, business, agent, or managing organisation, you confirm that you have permission to arrange the service and that all necessary approvals have been obtained. We will not be responsible for disputes between occupiers, owners, or third parties relating to the booking.

2. Pricing and Payments

Our prices may be quoted as a fixed fee, an hourly rate, a minimum charge, or a combination of these depending on the job type. Unless stated otherwise, all prices are quoted in pounds sterling and may be subject to VAT where applicable. Any quotation or estimate is valid for the period stated in the quotation or, if no period is stated, for a reasonable time only. We may adjust pricing if the job changes, if extra rooms or items are added, if additional treatment is required, or if access difficulties increase labour time.

Payment is due in accordance with the payment method and timing agreed at the time of booking or at the end of the service, depending on the arrangement. We may require a deposit or advance payment for larger bookings, repeat commercial work, or appointments at our discretion. Carpet Cleaning SE1 reserves the right to request full payment on completion of the work unless alternative terms have been agreed in writing. If payment is made by card, bank transfer, cash, or another accepted method, you must ensure that the funds are available and that the payment is authorised.

Late or failed payments may result in reasonable recovery action, including the charging of interest and costs where permitted by law. If you dispute an invoice, you must notify us promptly and provide full details of the issue. You may not withhold undisputed sums. Any discounts, promotional rates, or special offers are discretionary unless expressly agreed in writing and may be withdrawn or amended at any time for future bookings.

3. Cancellations, Rescheduling, and Missed Appointments

You may cancel or reschedule a booking by giving us reasonable notice. Where a booking is cancelled or moved with sufficient notice, we will usually try to accommodate the change without charge. However, if cancellation is made at short notice, or if a slot has been reserved specifically for your job, we may charge a cancellation fee or retain part or all of any deposit to cover administrative time, travel allocation, and loss of opportunity. The amount charged will be reasonable and proportionate to the circumstances.

If we arrive at the property and are unable to carry out the work because of no access, incorrect address details, lack of parking where essential and not disclosed, unsafe conditions, or your failure to be present where required, the appointment may be treated as a late cancellation or missed visit. In such cases, we may charge a call-out fee or full or partial service fee, depending on the work reserved and the time lost. We will act reasonably and take into account the practical circumstances of the failed appointment.

We may also cancel or reschedule bookings where staff safety, weather conditions, equipment failure, illness, or other factors outside our control make it impractical to attend. If we do so, we will offer an alternative appointment where possible. We are not liable for indirect loss arising from such cancellation, provided we have acted reasonably and informed you as soon as practicable.

We will carry out services with reasonable care and skill using suitable equipment and cleaning products selected according to the nature of the job. However, results will vary depending on carpet fibre, age, wear, prior cleaning history, stain type, colourfastness, and environmental conditions. Some marks may be permanent or may not respond fully to treatment. You acknowledge that cleaning can improve appearance and hygiene but cannot guarantee complete removal of all stains, odours, or ingrained soiling.

You are responsible for ensuring that items to be cleaned are reasonably accessible and that fragile objects, valuables, and loose items are removed or secured before we begin. Unless we agree otherwise, we do not move extremely heavy furniture, disconnect appliances, or undertake work that creates a risk of damage or personal injury. You should also notify us of any pre-existing damage, weak seams, loose dyes, damp, mould, infestation, or prior repairs. Failure to disclose relevant issues may limit our ability to provide the service safely and may affect any remedy.

5. Liability and Limitations

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded under UK law. Subject to that, our liability is limited as set out below. We are not liable for pre-existing damage, normal wear and tear, hidden defects, colour loss from unstable dyes, shrinkage caused by unsuitable materials, or adverse effects caused by failure to follow manufacturer care instructions where such instructions were not provided to us in advance.

If we are found liable for loss or damage arising from our services, our total liability will be limited to the amount paid or payable for the specific service giving rise to the claim, unless a greater amount is required by law. We will not be liable for loss of profits, business interruption, loss of opportunity, or any indirect or consequential losses. You must notify us of any alleged damage or complaint as soon as reasonably possible and in any event within a reasonable period after completion of the work.

Where a claim is made, you must allow us a reasonable opportunity to inspect the alleged issue and, where appropriate, to rectify the problem before any third party is instructed. Failure to permit inspection or remediation may affect your rights and our ability to investigate the matter. Any remedy offered will depend on the circumstances and may include re-cleaning, partial refund, or other reasonable corrective action at our discretion, without admitting liability beyond what the law requires.

6. Waste, Disposal, and Environmental Compliance

We are committed to operating in compliance with applicable UK waste handling and environmental requirements. In the course of providing carpet cleaning services, certain waste may arise, including dirty water, removed debris, disposable materials, packaging, or items identified for disposal during the job. We will handle waste in a lawful and responsible manner and may transport it only where permitted and where it falls within our service arrangements.

You must ensure that any waste you ask us to remove is clearly identified and that you have the right to authorise its disposal. We do not accept responsibility for concealed hazardous waste, sharps, bodily fluids beyond the normal scope of domestic cleaning, asbestos, chemicals, or other controlled materials unless we have expressly agreed in advance and have the required expertise and authorisation. If prohibited, dangerous, or regulated waste is discovered, we may stop work immediately and charge for time already spent. You may be responsible for arranging specialist disposal in accordance with the relevant regulations.

Where wastewater is generated, we will take reasonable steps to prevent pollution and to dispose of it in a suitable manner. You must not require us to carry out work that would involve unlawful discharge or unsafe handling. If the property condition, drainage, or local restrictions make compliance impracticable, we may decline the job or alter the method used. You agree to cooperate with any reasonable request necessary to ensure lawful disposal and environmental compliance.

Waste compliance and service policy for carpet cleaning7. Complaints, Remedies, and Service Issues

If you are dissatisfied with the service, you should contact us promptly and provide details of the issue, including photographs where appropriate. We will review the matter in good faith and may request access to the property to inspect the concern. Reasonable complaints should be raised as soon as possible after completion so that we can assess the situation properly. Delayed complaints may be harder to verify and may affect available remedies.

Where a complaint is upheld, our preferred approach is to put matters right through re-cleaning or another reasonable corrective step. If that is not possible or not appropriate, we may offer a partial refund or another proportionate remedy. Any remedy will be determined fairly, taking into account the nature of the issue, the extent of any shortfall, and the value of the service provided. This does not affect any statutory rights you may have as a consumer.

8. Force Majeure

We are not liable for failure or delay in performing our obligations where the failure is caused by events beyond our reasonable control. These may include severe weather, transport disruption, illness, industrial action, fire, flood, power failure, accident, acts of terrorism, government restrictions, or equipment supply problems. In such circumstances, we will take reasonable steps to notify you and arrange a new appointment where practical.

If a force majeure event continues for an extended period, either party may cancel the affected booking without further liability, except for any payment due for work already completed or unavoidable costs already incurred. We will not be responsible for consequential losses arising from such events.

9. Data, Privacy, and Communications

We only use personal information as needed to manage bookings, provide services, issue invoices, process payments, and communicate with you about your appointment. We will handle personal data in accordance with applicable UK data protection law. You agree that we may retain records of bookings, payments, and service history for administrative, accounting, and legal purposes.

We may contact you by telephone, email, or message regarding booking confirmation, arrival updates, payment matters, or follow-up communications connected to the service. You should ensure the contact details you provide are accurate and up to date. We will not use your details for unrelated purposes unless permitted by law or agreed by you.

10. General Terms

If any part of these terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms will continue in full force. No failure or delay by us in enforcing any right shall operate as a waiver of that right. Any variation to these terms must be agreed in writing. The headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation. These terms form the entire agreement between you and Carpet Cleaners SE1 in relation to the services we provide, unless a written agreement states otherwise.

Nothing in these terms is intended to create a partnership, employment relationship, or agency arrangement between us and you. You may not assign your rights under these terms without our written consent. We may assign or transfer our rights and obligations where it is lawful to do so and where it does not materially reduce your rights.

11. Governing Law

The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably.
